Brian, Your hateful attitude toward women suggests that you might be happier in a relationship with another man. Spare the women who read this forum all the misogyny, please.

Real woman, relax.... I was just teasing Electra because he said (on a different thread) that his wife wears the pants.  She wanted a suburban house so that's why he's temporarily giving up his $2 million dollar condo and bought her a $1 million house so she can mow the lawn.   Obviously, she has a lot of power (you go girl!).

My point was that, other than overpaying on a house,  one has other more pleasurable ways of blowing $200k.  No need to give it to a developer/seller.

Geez, people are sensitive these days!!!

I think it has been shown that John's, oops, I mean Electra's condo is only worth $900,000.

I was giving Electra the benefit of the doubt....

Prices are generally at 2003 levels. Admittedly the high-end is "holding up" because the owners are richer with more cash reserves to "ride out" the storm. But how long can owners bleed thousands and thousands without eventually giving up?

I personally don't want a crash of housing market. I want a slow bleed over 10 years and stagnation. Otherwise the banks will fail and we'll all be in trouble. I don't have my tax money to bail out the FBs. Let them work and be debt slaves to the banks.

Like Robert Shiller said, we want slow deflation in house prices.

There will come a time, when, without hope of quick turnaround, the high-end will give up. Afterall, people who bought million dollar properties are generally in their 50s. 10 years from now, they'll be sick and about to pass away so they'll give up eventually.

I think this real estate downturn will be protracted and previous high will not return until 2020. Time will tell.

Can anyone PLEASE tell me why that article from "LUCE" on "liquidated damages" continues to appear on thread after thread? It is on this thread back on I believe page 2. Very strange. Enough is enough. Is LUCE pumping his lawfirm or what? Is there some liquidated damages attorney at LUCE trying to procure some clients? I don't know.

LUCE is the local firm that Bosa uses.
