Man, that building is ugly and the quality is poor. who puts pedestal sinks in any bathroom other than a half bath in the foyer. No other bathroom should have them. I think the building is ugly, just heinous. Cookie cutter junk. Anyway, i just read that prices in san diego will drop another 10% over the next couple of years. I'm sure downtown will be worse. Steep Home Price Drops Coming

In defense of SC, I think that the building is quite nice. I love the modern architecture. It's the stucco fake ornate Italian/Spanish architecture that I hate. Truly "American" architecture should be modern and forward looking. Having said that, I think that building is way, way, way overpriced.

Anon 9:18,

I agree on the building, I like it a lot and would love to see more buildings that take some chances. If there is a criticism of Bosa it's they are pretty predictable at this point.

Regarding price I find it pretty easy to set that aside and not thing about it I am just thinking about the city and what's going on. I do wish these prices made more sense for more people as filling the buildings up would be good for the city.

I also like the concept over at Soup. The train running down the middle is one of the parts I love. I used to live down near the Sante Fe station and with the bells at every intersection, it was a nightmare. But here there are no bells. I guess there would be some noise from the people and the train itself.

It could be kinda cool to have the trolley right downstairs. Be awesome for baseball or football games. But the price and the sales people right now are both so crazy.

At least BOSA has some good contemporary designs, Park Place aside. Intergulf is much worse. They put a brand new building up downtown and they use suburban designs marketed towards soccer moms or old fogies. Don't they know people who live downtown have different tastes?

I agree, people who want to live downtown have different tastes. They certainly don't want the crown moulding, ornate Ethan Allen/Jerome's look.

I heard that Germany has really nice urban design, even in the suburbs. They like modern architecture with lost of concrete, glass and steel. I gotta go and check it out.

Another blow to Soup Corner.
Looks like CCDC just approved low-income high-rise housing right across the street, where Burger King is now.

Honestly, its hard to measure this one. Soupies will lose out on the BK Value meals, and all the economy and riff-raff that brings in. But they'll gain an affordable housing tower, to supplement the soup kitchen downstairs.

Its getting sad, really.

Thanks for the link CYB.This is hilarious that this low income housing project is opening up next to Vantage Pointe and Soup Corner I expect that both these projects to wind up being low income housing within the next three years.

Have i seen this building before??? Well, I was referring to the office side. Geez, it's a freakin' rectangle! Man, what brilliant architect came up with that design. The condo side is better, but come on, we still could've done something better...

anyone owning a unit on the first few floors that has a window facing the trolley stop is going to regret it. think of all the noise those high school and community college kids are going to make while they are waiting for their trains. also, they are going to trash that stop. just give it some time

That's the truth.

Don't developers see this. Unless that property is zoned for commerce, they're never going to sell for much. Even second through fourth(?) floors on the trolley side are going to get loads of noise.

SC should stand for Stupid Corner. With the trolley rerouted between the 2 buildings you can count on noise being amplified all the way up on that side of the building.
