Now that the CCDC has approved the homeless shelter to be built, I can't wait for the turf wars to break out. New homeless shelter to go up on 11th and Market on November 1st. Expect those prices to continue to fall. Nothing says luxury condo like being squeezed between a soup kitchen, low-income apartments and a homeless shelter.

This should directly affect M2I, right there on the corner together. And even Metrome, Park Blvd East/West, Icon, Farenheit and Diamond Terrace aren't too far removed.

10/20/2007 11:34 AM Alert
Soup is a liquid food that is made by combining ingredients, such as meat, vegetables or legumes in stock or hot water, until the flavor is extracted, forming a broth. Boiling was not a common cooking technique until the invention of waterproof containers (which probably came in the form of pouches made of clay or animal skin) about 5,000 years ago.

The word "soup" comes from the older word "sop," meaning a piece of bread served with some type of liquid. One of the first types of soups can be dated to about 6000 B.C., earlier than other records, with the main ingredient being hippopotamus.

Traditionally, soups are classified into two broad groups: clear soups and thick soups. The established French classifications of clear soups are bouillon and consommé. Thick soups are classified depending upon the type of thickening agent used: purées are vegetable soups thickened with starch; bisques are made from puréed shellfish thickened with cream; cream soups are thickened with béchamel sauce; and veloutés are thickened with eggs, butter and cream. Other ingredients commonly used to thicken soups and broths include rice, flour, and grain.

I want to live there. Lots of hot young women that can afford their own condo will live there. Me the attractive older divorced gentleman can take them out for an occasional meal - or show up at their unit with a bottle of wine. I am thinking about a 6 month lease. The perfect age for me to date is 27-28 years old. The old half plus seven rule.

Are you saying that leasing is better for dating young attractive women?

It also sounds like they are opposed to outrageous conduct by the developer. If so, bravo for them.

"Given Smart Corners failure to satisfy 80 percent occupancy, the alternative standard is the requirement that Smart Corner post a bond for approximately two million dollars to cover its fees."

Or they could slash prices and sell the other 80% of the units at the current market.

And the tee shirt is:
Smart Corner, by contrast, appears to present a distress situation.

Yes - 6 months of fun then I can move back to my home.

Oh yeah - I don't buy condos because I am opposed to turning over my ability to control my cost.  I like to budget maintenance and repairs on my own property.  If money is tight I mow the grass myself, and if major repairs are needed I can pay for it later when I have the $; not when the association tells to.
Downtown

RE Idiot,

I agree in a lot of ways, the problem is if you want to live in the city and access all that it has to offer you're pretty much talking condominium. Also if you travel a lot mowing the yard suddenly becomes a major pain.

To keep costs down you're probably better living in a building that doesn't have 24/7/365 staff. That rules out Bosa buildings right away. Even that doesn't bother me because the door people just become pawns for the building busy bodies to try and control.

One of the great things about SmartCorner is that the shared space is on top of the building, this should stop a lot of the conflict of people complaining about people at the hot tub or just talking and "making noise".
