3 kinds of people go to these besides the auctioneers:
1: Shrewed investors who do a lot of leg work prior to the auction and set their limits and only buy what meets their very strict criteria.
2: Wanna be investors (idiots) who see the ad touting "5 bed/3 bath, 4 blocks to the beach and opening bid @ $459K". These people provide the bread and butter for those auctions since they keep bidding up until the house reaches the true market price.
3: People who have no desire to buy via auction but to observe human greed and how it gets the best of them.
Go check it out, it's a fun show but be warned it's no place for average buyers... |
