Are you an FHA or VA buyer who's been beat on a foreclosure deal by an offer with conventional financing or a cash buyer? I'm a SDLookup lurker and the voiceofsandiego.org housing market reporter, and am writing a story about that issue. Because FHA and VA loans carry a requirement that the house be inhabitable, I'm hearing that the Realtors selling the bank-owned houses on behalf of the bank are avoiding those offers as much as they can (as long as they have another offer on hand -- a cash buyer or a buyer with conventional financing). Does that jive with your experience or what you're hearing? I'd love to chat with you. Send me an e-mail to kelly.bennett@voiceofsandiego.org. Kelly Bennett |
