I posted a question months ago about the current environment for buying in S.D; more specifically, South Bay/ Chula Vista. I found out at that time (from real life stories of would be buyers similar to me) it was a nightmare for any FHA buyer--being either outbid or losing to cash offers less than yours. I took a few months off from spinning my own wheels and went into hibernation. Has anything changed since then or is there still a dearth of "actual" inventory available to potential buyers (both FHA or conventional)? Please don't respond with stats or figures--my cynical nature leads me to believe any stat can be curve fitted to corroborate anyone's predisposition--only real life example would be a great help. Thank you

things in popular area's are worse there is a lack of inventory. all though being FHA you don' t have to worry about the 90 day
flip rule.
there is still alot of new homes in c/v why not go that way.

Same story different day. I've been trying to buy an entry level home for several months. Everything that comes to market that is a good buy is getting picked up by CASH buyers and the situation is extremely frustrating.

Buying new doesn't sound that bad right now. The only problem is the new places we would be interested in are about 25% above what we said was our price limit. The past year has been so frustrating; I am ready to throw in the towel.

I was looking to buy about this time but with the huge overhang of foreclosures looming, I'm sitting on the sidelines a while longer. There's no rush.
