The thread about the new City Hall inspired me to post this on cool architecture. Architecture can be very inspiring and fulfilling. I love this house in the desert. Very cool. The canopy used as a cooling feature is a great idea. Desert Ranch |

| Is this a post only for "cool" architecture, (in hot climates) or could I comment about "hot" architecture (in cool climates). (for instance passive heating by building your house on the carcass of a decaying buffalo in Wyoming?) Or would I need to start my own thread? |

| Interesting and probably cheap to build. Although if I was living in the middle of nowhere, I might want something a bit more defensible. I have been watching too many horror movies like "Rest Stop" and "Sacred Ground"... |

Maybe an impenetrable wall of cacti?
Looks interesting. I can't say that I like it but it's definitely interesting. I'm not an architect but it looks new and old at the same time. Modern retro? Updated take at 60s architecture? |

| That is very cool. Interesting that it's brown while the actual home is white. I suspect they tried with white first and then came up with the additional cover idea. They should put some solar panels on that... |

One of my favorites has always been bubble houses. This one is the classic one that's always referenced:
