The number of dogs in the city has gotten out of hand, they pee, poop and bark constantly. I honestly think people need to seek more human contact. Start working out, lose the American 20 pounds and start having sex again. You'll see that scruffy soon becomes a distraction to these better pursuits of your time.

| People these days don't have social skills because parents didn't teach them. They can't take criticism. Therefore people would rather have dogs and eat ice-cream and cookies to make themselves feel better. |

I hate HOA fees, paying a bunch of lazy high school dropouts to sit on their asses collecting a bunch of money. People who want to own dogs probably should not live in apartments/condos/townhouses. As for screaming babies, get over it! We were all screaming babies before. It's just part of the cycle of life. Stop being such a bunch of whiners and finding fault with everything in the world. Shame on the parents who put their babies in a public swimming pool, the pools aren't that clean to start with, then they put baby poop to make it worse. As for the taxes to pay for public education, most people went to public schools, so quit crying about it. You got yours, so now it's the next generations turn. Besides, do you realize how even more stupid and inconsiderate people would be if they had no schooling whatsoever?
So in conclusion, parents, clean up your baby's poop and don't put them in public swimming pools, that's bad for them and bad for the people who have to use those germ infested bodies of water. Dog owners, don't own a dog unless you have a house. Whiners, stop whining. |

I am getting tired too of all the dogs and their rude owners. Dogs are peeing everywhere, it's worse then the homeless and the homeless don't bark constantly.
Desiginated dog bathroom areas and bark collars should be mandatory and would be paid for by much higher license fees. Come to think of if what are the license rules? I bet most of these people do not even have a license.
Get a cat or better yet some HUMAN companionship! |

It's not the dogs fault, it's their owners who should be more responsible. Dogs need to urinate and defecate, and it is the dog owners who let them go everywhere. Plus, if you leave a dog 8 to 10 hours alone in a small apartment, he'll get bored and will bark at the slightest noise. Really, it's the owners, not the dogs. So stop whining, show some guts and address the dog owners of your building, and leave those poor dogs alone. |

| Has anyone been over to the lawn area of PetCrap Park lately? I don't see how they allow people to sit on that grass during the games when there are hundreds of piles of crap deposited there during the week. |

It is just disgusting. I love dogs but would never keep one in an apartment without a yard.
What is the difference between human and dog urine? What if people peed everywhere like these dogs are?

People like Anonymous at 12:01 post the same post over and over and over again, word per word, everytime this subject comes up. Never with the balls to use their real name, of course. If you don't like dogs, move to a third world country. Neighborhoods with dogs = more home OWNERS = better neighborhoods. If you don't like noise from people, cars, dogs and children, move to the country. Whiners! |

When I lived at La Vita I had a neighbor that absolutely hated dogs. He didn't like sharing the elevator with them and complained constantly of the urine stench out front of the building. The building manager was always putting "no dogs allowed in the lawn" messages in the newsletter as the grass was die.
I think all of this is pretty funny actually. My biggest complaint is the no bikes on the patio love letters from the HOA. Does that really hurt anyone? Noise and smell would seem like bigger bad neighbor items than a bike on the patio.

Of course it's not the dogs, what do they know? Nothing. Putting an animal that is meant to roam the outdoors in a 1,000 square foot indoor space is the problem.
People should get out there and meet the neighbors; have a drink, go running, volunteer somewhere (except the HOA board). Maybe even have SEX with someone.

If you don't like dogs, move to a third world country. Have you ever been to a third world country like India? There are stray dogs EVERYWHERE.
And I agree, shut those damn little kids up. They need to learn it's not acceptable to be screaming and yelling (usually for no reason at all) in public places. When I did that my parents gave me the stern look, and if I did it again I was punished. This is BASIC parenting. |

I heard the other day that the HOA board at one of the Bosa projects made a renter with a barking dog and the owner appears at a board meeting due to chronic barking.
I wonder if HOAs are starting to take this more serious as a lot of barking and chaos is bad for property values. This is even more pronounced in the current market. |

The city is better in winter, you tend to have your window closed so the noise, dog based or otherwise is muted, and the periodic rain washes all the urine away.

I love dogs but I wouldn't keep a dog in a small apartment downtown.
Dog and human pee on asphalt is nasty. Think about it, the pets walk on the streets then jump right on your bed after they return to the condo.

Anyone on this thread who has spoken badly about dogs and owners, please post your address so I can have my dog poo on your doorstep. Seriously. It will be the highlight of my day. Then, if you get angry, I will retaliate by picking up the poo and smoosh it in your face. Then, as you stand there in bewilderment, my dog will pee on your leg. Be sure to include your unit number, I don't want to dirty up the wrong person. |

| Threats aside I do think there are some real issues here that need to be addressed. Should we have so many animals running around in a place where there is very little grass for the animal to urinate or defecate on? There needs to be a density limit on the number of animals in a given block. This can be achieved by a much stronger licensing policy which looks at the address the animal is living at and prices the license fee according. This could be much like liquor licenses. They are kept a limit as drinking is a nuisance like animals are. |
